Bring the community together in dialogue . . . as an Institute-trained facilitator.
This training program is designed to prepare anyone with an interest in community building to positively support collective efforts to organize, conduct, debrief and build upon authentic community engagement, you do not need to be an alumni to take advantage of this free class.
Institute staff will then be able to refer facilitation work to you and employ you for occasional facilitation opportunities.
Training topics include
- Fundamentals of community dynamics
- Non-negotiables of community engagement
- Conflict management
- Building consensus
- Goal & strategy development
- Structuring next steps & closing

Class will be held at Neighborhood Leadership Institute, 5246 Broadway Avenue in the historic Broadway United Methodist.
Neighborhood Leadership Institute alum Michael Matthews will conduct the training and draw on his 20 years of experience working with grassroots organizations to effect change through healthy dialogue.
Who can participate?
Anyone with an interest in building community bonds through respectful dialogue is welcome and encouraged to apply.
