Neighborhood Leadership Institute partners with agencies and institutions to engage ordinary citizens in change initiatives and to strengthen and emerging leaders within their communities with targeted trainings.

Community engagement & facilitation  The Institute partners with agencies interested in collecting authentic, feedback from community stakeholders. Our extensive alumni network helps promote participation, and select alumni trained in facilitation guide the process under staff direction.

One such initiative is the Cleveland Plan implementation process undertaken by the Cleveland Metropolitan School District. All stakeholder comments and suggestions are recorded and provided to the leadership of CMSD to support sustainable decisions as it relates to the educational future of Cleveland’s youth.

Community-specific training programs    These multi-week neighborhood-based leadership programs build upon the gifts and assets of the residents of a specific community as well as provide a set of tools that will empower them as effective agents of change. Some partner communities for this type of training include:

  • Buckeye Woodland
  • Lee-Harvard
  • Mt. Pleasant
  • United Way of Summit County
  • University of Dayton
  • United Way of Tampa, Florida
