Families that Lead is an 8-week leadership development series designed to give parents and caregivers the tools to be effective leaders and advocates for their family. Classes will be held weekly for 2 1/2 hours per session, with the goal of creating knowledgeable parent leaders who can both advocate for themselves and support other families in need. Participants are asked to pledge to share the expertise they gain for a 2-year period following the class.
Key components of the class include:
- Change and the family
- Child development
- Finding your voice
- Understanding systems
- The home/school educational partnership
- Developing partnerships
An optional capstone experience may include an in-depth project or portfolio demonstrating your ability to research and communicate using technology on an issue of singular importance to you.
Enrichment & Support: Cleveland Family Support Network
The Cleveland Parent Support Network (CPSN) will offer enrichment workshops designed to meet the needs and interests of parents and families. You may participate in one or all sessions as desired, and will gain skills and knowledge that will enable you to work more effectively at home and in your community. Additionally, you will receive materials to build your Families that Lead toolkit.
CPSN will support interest-based groups, book clubs and promote access to educational, entertainment and cultural events throughout the year.
Love & Logic is a seven-week series focusing on raising responsible kids and identifying formulas and solutions that can support you as the leader of your family. Call for schedule.
