Community Book Club kicks off June 30th

This month, Neighborhood Leadership Institute kicks off its Community Book Club! We invite members of the community to join us as we read and discuss books addressing important issues in today’s society.

On June 30th, we’ll host our first virtual club meeting on Zoom. GiGi Elder and Annie Morino will facilitate the meetings and we’ll discuss a new chapter each week. Our first book is The New Jim Crow: Mass Incarceration in the Age of Colorblindness. Participants are expected to have read chapter 1 by June 30th.

We anticipate that interested friends will obtain their own copy of the book (paper, online, etc). However, NLI has secured a limited number of copies and can make them available to those unable to purchase a book at this time.

Interested in joining the Community Book Club? Please contact Michelle Broome at 216.658.1358 or michelle@neighborhoodleadership.org. Weekly Zoom meeting links will be sent to you once you have signed up.

You can REGISTER FOR THE BOOK CLUB here.
