Another year of SNR kicks off on November 7, 2022!
We partner with Cleveland Metropolitan Schools and the City of Cleveland to open six school buildings for out-of-school time three nights a week, November through March. Programs include recreation and enrichment programs for all ages. All SNR sites are open Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday nights and all activities are free and open to the public. Participants range in age from preschoolers to senior citizens. Hours vary by site.

Recreation activities vary by site but include basketball, weightlifting, aerobic exercise such as line dancing, and seasonal recreational leagues. Additional programs are offered according to community demand—homework help, home economics, community service, peer-to-peer mentoring, family literacy, GED preparation, leadership classes, arts and crafts, martial arts, chess, parent support groups and much more.
Since 1993, SNR sites have provided more than recreation and educational opportunities for youth and families, they’ve become a safe space and common ground for community residents. Participants value the opportunity to share ideas, discuss challenges, receive training, hold meetings and build positive relationships.
The SNR program annually serves more than 4,500 City of Cleveland residents and employs 95 part-time seasonal employees.
Agencies or individuals interested in holding free programs at one or more SNR sites are invited to contact Tasha Fairley at 216-658-1360 or firstname.lastname@example.org
